Brightening garnet. Sweet, roasted bouquet with red plums and linden wood notes behind. On the palate, soft, ripe stone fruit, showing a lovely sweetness, quite forceful on the finish, with a finely sandy texture on the aftertaste.

Evolved color. Moderately aromatic nose. A touch of praline characteristic of the vintage. Rounded, rich, mellow palate with medium power. Tannins a bit firm. Drink it.

Wine Enthusiast

Roger Voss

A small proportion of Patrick Bernard's Haut-Médoc estate of Peyrabon is in Pauillac, and he uses the fruit to make a top cuvée. This wine is suitably powered by dark Pauillac tannins, laced with some new wood and black currant fruits. It's powerful and dense, with considerable aging potential.

Description

2003 Pauillac Cru Bourgeois, Bordeaux

The cuvee of Chateau La Fleur Peyrabon comes from a vineyard of 5 hectares that grows on a Pauillac terroir. This 2003 is marked by 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, completed by 32% Merlot.
The wine gives a subtle sensation found on aromatic notes where candied plum, and roast hints blend, underlined by a nice muffled wood. On the palate, the 2003 Chateau La Fleur Peyrabon reveals an elegance that prevails on a rather velvety, fleshy and ample whole crowned by smooth and almost sugared tannins.
