Château La Tour de Bessan 2022

Herb-spiced and floral, violets over blackberry, sour cherries, noble roasted aromas; on the palate, crisp fruit, good balance, ripe tannins, a saline finish on blood oranges and dark chocolate, very nice length. Still youthful, with finesse and character, can age.

This fresh and bright red has notes of plums, currants, oranges and rosemary on the nose. It’s medium-bodied, sleek and refined, with tight tannins. Elegant. Try from 2027.

The 2022 La Tour de Bessan is plump, juicy and inviting, all of which make it a fine choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Ripe blue fruits, spice, chocolate and licorice are nicely pushed forward. Soft contours wrap it all together.

Round, supple, sweet, lush, and polished, the wine effortlessly showcases its sweet black and red fruits, leaving a creamy finish that will be ready to enjoy upon release. Drink from 2025–2038.

Dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, subtle brightening on the rim. Restrained, subtle wild dark berry fruit, blackberries, plums, some liquorice. Medium-bodied, red berry fruit, fine sweetness, fresh acidity, animating style, lemony finish, a lively food wine.

One of the best vintages of recent years, with clear ripeness and rich black fruits, showing density and a broad expansion through the mid-palate. A little short on the finish as the tannins close in; no need to wait, but I suggest a good hour in a decanter. Marie Laure Lurton owner.

A fruity, vibrant nose with sappy notes. The palate is fluid and delicious, revealing a smooth, succulent texture.

Good bouquet intensity with notes of red berries, blackcurrant and eucalyptus. With good density, the wine has fine-grained tannins that provide vigor, while the acidity brings structure and freshness. A harmonious, ambitious wine that deserves a little ageing.

Perfumed black berries and chocolate notes on the nose. Lively and forward, this combines high, but almost sweet acidity with freshly picked juicy strawberries, crunchy tannins and a softly chalky, mineral base. Not the most complex but lots to like here with energy and character and great drinkability. Ends fresh, lifted and moreish.
