Description

Tasting notes and recommendations for Aile d'Argent 2025 from Château Mouton Rothschild

Tasting

Appearance
This wine reveals a lovely pale yellow hue, illuminated by bright highlights that can sometimes subtly show green tints, a characteristic typical of its youth.

Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens with great freshness, combining scents of white stone fruits, such as vineyard peach, with delicate floral notes.

Palate
The attack is lively and vibrant. The texture is ample, round, and particularly generous. Superb tension carries through to the finish, which lingers with saline notes and a hint of citrus zest, ensuring perfect balance.

Food and wine pairings
Ideal as an aperitif, this white wine pairs beautifully with seafood or delicate fish such as salmon and sea bream. It also complements artichokes as well as hard cheeses like Parmesan or Manchego.

Serving and cellaring
To fully appreciate Aile d'Argent 2025, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 7 and 12°C.

The brilliance and richness of a great Bordeaux Blancs Secs wine by Château Mouton Rothschild

The estate
Acquired in 1853 by Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild, who gave it its current name, the Château Mouton Rothschild is a true icon of the Bordeaux region. Located in the Pauillac appellation, this estate of around 90 hectares was elevated to Premier Cru Classé status in 1973 thanks to the vision of Baron Philippe de Rothschild. Today, the property is managed by Philippe Sereys de Rothschild, Camille Sereys de Rothschild, and Julien de Beaumarchais de Rothschild. Renowned for its artist-designed labels, the château has also established its reputation in the production of white wines.

The vineyard
Dedicated to the production of the Aile d'Argent cuvée, a great Bordeaux Blancs Secs wine, the vineyard covers 9 hectares under production. The vines, averaging 14 years of age, are planted at a density of 9,000 vines per hectare. They thrive on terroirs composed of sandy-gravel and clay-limestone soils, offering ideal conditions for growing white grape varieties.

The vintage
The year 2025 began with a mild and slightly dry winter, promoting rapid soil warming and early budburst recorded on April 5. April was particularly rainy and mild, before giving way to summery weather from May through the end of August. Flowering occurred quickly and evenly at the end of May. The vines experienced marked but not excessive water stress. After a rapid veraison at the end of July, the hot and dry month of August greatly accelerated ripening. Harvests therefore began on August 19, thirteen days ahead of the ten-year average, marking a historic record.

Winemaking and aging
In order to preserve the full aromatic purity of the grapes, vinification is carried out in stainless steel tanks. Aile d'Argent 2025 is then aged for 9 months, 45% of which takes place in new French oak barrels. Alcohol: 13.6% vol.

Grape varieties
Aile d'Argent 2025 from Château Mouton Rothschild is made from a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (63%), Sémillon (29%), Sauvignon Gris (7%), and Muscadelle (1%).
