Restrained, slightly smoky nose, dark fruit, cool fireplace; taut and gripping on the palate, with somewhat too much austere tannin for the available fruit; short, red-fruited finish.

Black cherries, licorice, and flowers get the wine going. Soft, fresh, round-textured, and fruity, the wine finishes with brightness and a touch of salt on the finish. The wine blends 75% Merlot with 25% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2027-2036. 90-92 pts
