Description
An elegant and harmonious great wine from Saint-Émilion
The estate
Founded in 1700, Château Troplong Mondot is a Premier Grand Cru Classé that ranks at the very top of the Saint-Émilion appellation.
The vineyard
Rising to 110 metres above sea level, the Château Troplong Mondot vineyard that produced this 2013 vintage covers a single 33-hectare block. It is farmed entirely according to sustainable viticulture practices. The vines grow on the clay-limestone soils typical of the Saint-Émilion appellation.
The vintage
The final vintage overseen by the great and much-missed Christine Valette, this Château Troplong Mondot 2013 showcases the full excellence of work carried out with meticulous rigour and precision in a year of singular weather, marked by a cold, wet spring followed by a hot, dry summer.
Blend
Merlot (90%), Cabernet Sauvignon (8%) and Cabernet Franc (2%).
