Medium-bodied, forward, round, lush, polished, fruity, sweet and almost ready to drink, with its ripe dark red berry, espresso, licorice and coffee-centric profile. 86-88 pts

Dark ruby, purple reflections, a slight brightening at the rim. Hints of ripe plums, nuances of cherries, subtle orange zest. Medium-bodied, red cherries, vivid, somewhat brittle tannins, lemony, with leafy nuances on the finish, uncomplicated.

Pure nose blending red and dark fruit with some herbal bay leaf and sage notes with mild oak; succulent and forward palate with fine-grained tannins, elegant and fresh, with nice persistence and drinkability.

The 2020 Chevalier de Lascombes has a deep garnet-purple color. It strides confidently out of the glass with classic cassis, cedar, and pencil lead notes, plus suggestions of smoked meats and tapenade. The medium-bodied palate delivers lively acidity and chewy tannins to support the delicate black fruits, finishing savory.

A fresh, enthusiastic nose, eager to please. Supple, sumptuous, caressing on the palate, with all the drinkability you want from a second wine of this approachable appellation. Lovely length and presence.

Le Chevalier de Lascombes has a striking family resemblance to the grand vin, especially through its charm, which is already noticeable on the nose. The same applies on the palate, where the wine is slender, elegant, harmonious, and ready to drink! A delectable wine to enjoy with complete peace of mind.

The 2020 Chevalier de Lascombes, matured entirely in one-year-old barrels, has a tightly-knit bouquet with cranberry and raspberry fruit and light floral scents. The palate is fresh on the entry with quite firm tannins, a touch of balsamic infusing the red fruit with a hint of bitterness on the finish. So-so.
