Couvent des Jacobins 2013

A touch too much extract, but well made and with a certain pedigree. Needs some aging.

Soft and supple but light. Meaty, red berry notes. Drying finish.

Slightly leafy and herbal aromas with red cherry. High acidity, firm tannin and a moderate finish.

Bright garnet of medium density, with a fine rim. Delicate, finely spiced bouquet, cherry notes on the fruit, then a slightly dry impression on the second approach. On the palate, a slender body yet with noticeable muscle. As always, more of a food-pairing style.

The wine is supple and Merlot-driven, with a fresh, well-balanced profile. It performs well. 75% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot.

Logo on the cork: CB Discreet nose, fruity and floral. Gentle palate with a hint of salinity.
