The attractive, lively 2023 Saint-Péray Marsanne offers aromas of almond, white flowers and menthol, followed by a moderately weighted, enrobing and supple palate with a juicy, gourmand core of fruit and a long, fresh finish. It gives you everything you want in a Saint-Péray.

The 2023 Saint-Péray Marsanne (100% Marsanne) has a bigger, richer style, offering honeyed melon, dried herb, quince, and toast-like aromatics. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it shows beautiful balance, integrated acidity, and outstanding length. Aged 10 months in oak barrels, drink bottles over the coming 5-7 years or so. Drink 2025-2032.

The estate

Founded in 1996 by Stéphane Robert in the Rhône Valley, Domaine du Tunnel spans 12 hectares, spread across Cornas, Saint-Joseph and Saint-Péray. Based in the Ardèche, the estate is managed by Stéphane and his wife Sandrine. Its aging cellar, established in 2014 in a 150-meter long former railway tunnel, offers remarkable natural conditions. On granite soils, the estate cultivates Syrah and Marsanne-Roussanne and has established itself as a reference in the Northern Rhône Valley.

The vineyard

This Marsanne 2023 stems from a blend of several plots in Saint-Péray (Lieux-dits Barras, Les Grandes Blaches).
