The structure and balance of a Saint-Joseph wine
The estate
Domaine du Tunnel, founded by Stéphane Robert in the Rhône Valley, now farms vines on the right bank of the Rhône in the Ardèche. Stéphane and Sandrine Robert run the estate, which stands out for its unique cellar, housed in a former railway tunnel since 2014. This distinctive setting reflects the estate's precise, contemporary approach, and the domaine is renowned for its consistency and its deep connection to its terroir.
The vineyard
This Saint-Joseph wine is made from vines with an average age of 40 years, located in the villages of Tournon sur Rhône, Mauves and Glun.
Vinification and ageing
This Saint-Joseph 2023 is vinified in stainless steel tanks for 3 weeks. The wine is then aged in barrels for 14 months, refining its structure and developing its aromatic complexity while preserving the freshness of the fruit.
Grape variety
This Rhône Valley wine is made from 100% Syrah.
