A blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, the 2020 La Belle Connivence is deep garnet-purple in color. It needs a little swirling to bring out notes of freshly crushed black cherries, juicy blackberries, and star anise with hints of candied violets and mocha. The medium- to full-bodied palate is coated with ripe black berries and rounded tannins, lifted by a refreshing line, finishing with lovely purity.
