La Chapelle de La Mission 2022

Ruby color with pronounced roasted aromas, cool fireplace, dark fruit; approachable palate, crisp fruit that makes you want to swallow right away, fine tannins envelop the fruit, pleasantly long, balanced, with blood orange and a touch of dark chocolate on the finish.

Beautifully refined aromatics on the nose – clean and clear blackcurrant, cherry, floral notes and some soft dried herb accents. Succulent and really juicy, this bursts with liveliness while giving a real bite to the palate with crushed-stone-edged tannins. Lots of minerality and liquorice spice that really carries the flavours from start to finish. Still feels a little shy and tense but there's wonderful precision to the red berry fruit with a menthol lift all the way through. Glossy and well made, it will be good to drink in its youth, offering plenty of berry fruit and salinity. Lots of charm here. The most ready to drink in the range. 20% new oak.

Gorgeous sweet fruit of currants and berries with some graphite and dark mushrooms. Medium-bodied, this has firm and fine velvet tannins and a stony undertone with graphite. The second wine of La Mission. Give this three or four years to come around. Best after 2028.

The 2022 La Chapelle de La Mission Haut Brion is gorgeous. Silky, open-knit and inviting, it is an absolute delight. A wine of total refinement, La Chapelle is all class. Medium in body, with striking aromatics and a chiseled persistence, the 2022 is so expressive today. Dark fruit, leather, incense and licorice saturate the palate. What a great wine.

Dark ruby, purple reflections. Fine nuances of blackberries and cassis, notes of fine oak, a mineral touch. Juicy, elegant, ripe cherries, fresh acidity, mineral and salty, very approachable, a versatile food wine. (25/1).

The 2022 La Chapelle De La Mission Haut-Brion is based on 56% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Cabernet Franc. It's a gorgeous wine in its own right and has terrific cherry and darker, red currant-like fruit as well as a beautifully pure, medium- to full-bodied, elegant style on the palate. There's plenty of classic Pessac smoky, gravelly, tobacco-like nuances, and it has soft tannins, beautiful overall balance, and outstanding length. This hit 14% alcohol with a pH of 3.88.

Rich and luscious bilberry and black cherry fruits on the nose, creamy, with a touch of liquorice and butterscotch, supple tannins even at this early stage, balance provided by a sprig of rosemary, burnt fennel, and crayon. A highly seductive La Chapelle.

A seductive blend of fruit and flowers rises gracefully to the nose, lifted by vibrant notes of pepper and floral sap. On the palate, a pure structure, both lively and supple, revealing dark, earthy flavors. The finish, generous and indulgent, stretches out on mocha accents.

Clarity, freshness and fruity intensity form an excellent aromatic trio leading the bouquet of La Chapelle. Delicate and elegant, the wine shows a tonic, sapid and thirst-quenching character. Its perfectly integrated tannins ensure impeccable structure, bringing together vigor and freshness. A delicious wine, heralding obvious pleasures!

Deep, intense purple color. An intense nose, refined and subtle. Notes of black fruit, smoke and cocoa. Hints of pine wood when the glass is swirled. Supple on the attack and particularly flavorful on the mid-palate, the wine develops with a caressing, juicy, sappy character before finishing with a more pronounced tannic touch, without ever losing its aromatic assets. Long and very good.

92-94 Barrel sample. This is a juicy wine, ripe with soft texture and blackberry fruits. It is a Merlot-dominated wine, ripe and full. The tannins are already fully integrated, giving a soft core to the wine.
