Lovely strong concentrated nose, full of Cabernet menthol and blackcurrant markers. Concentrated and so lively and juicy, really lifted with bright acidity, almost tart, but then pulled back by the salty, gravel minerality. Long with bite and a sense of power. A really nice, shining, tangy example. Not so tannic, they're super fine, but this has plenty of flavour and sense of excitement. I like it with its strong mentholated finish alongside clove, liquorice and tobacco.

The 2021 Lacoste-Borie has an attractive, earthy nose with touches of warm gravel infusing the black fruit, lighter compared to recent vintages, but clean and fresh. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly tangy entry and a little more boldness and fruit concentration than the nose suggests, a liberal splash of black pepper on the finish. This is maybe an earlier-drinking Lacoste-Borie, but it will age nicely over 12 to 15 years.

Bright red currants and leafy herbs with a touch of thyme are found on the nose. The palate is bright, crisp and peppery, with a savory edge to the chewy, red fruits in the finish. Drink from 2023-2033. 88-90

Intense ruby red fading to purple at the rim. Delicate hints of cloves and cassis, a touch of blackberry compote, subtle nougat and tobacco notes. Juicy dark wild berries, sweet cherries, well-integrated ripe tannins, fresh, clearly structured, long and persistent; a versatile food companion.

56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc. Restrained at first, with delicate red-berry contours, an enticing iris fragrance, lilac and lingonberry jelly. On the finely etched palate, soft in texture, well-structured, with vibrant tension and medium body. The focused finish shows redcurrant, light graphite and a gently sandy astringency, rounded off.

There are dark fruits and Pauillac typicity, with baking spices, undergrowth and a slate-like character, but the acidity on the finish highlights the angular tannins. 40 hl/ha yield (35 hl/ha after selection). Eric Boissenot consultant.

The 2021 Lacoste-Borie from Grand-Puy-Lacoste has a deep garnet-purple color. It is a little subdued to begin, offering glimpses of redcurrant jelly and stewed plum scents, plus hints of tar and black truffles. The medium-bodied palate is lively with firm, grainy tannins and plenty of expressive black fruits, finishing with a savory lift.

A sparkling nose marked by beautiful fruit. Harmonious and caressing on the palate, with pure, radiant fruit that the winemaker has brought to the fore, and a gourmet coffee note on the finish.

With a filigreed touch, the bouquet of Lacoste Borie reveals freshness, with nuances of eucalyptus and red berries. Lively and juicy, it has tannins on the verge of integrating. A characterful wine, slender and tightly knit, that needs time to blossom.

Wine with a fruity, subtle nose and a delicious, joyful, silky, and aromatic palate. Immediate pleasure.

The 2021 Lacoste-Borie is lovely, bursting with aromas of plums and cassis mingled with hints of orange zest, spices and espresso roast. Medium-bodied, ample and fleshy, with a charming core of fruit, supple tannins and a succulent, giving profile, it's already hard to resist. Readers looking for near-term, pleasure-bent drinking will find that this is one of the sleepers of the vintage.
