The aromatic bouquet reveals notes of white flowers, acacia honey, and toasted nuts, enhanced by a mineral dimension and hints of citrus characteristic of this cooler vintage.
Palate
On the palate, the wine offers a rich, full-bodied, and silky texture. This generosity is perfectly balanced by a lively acidity that brings freshness and remarkable mineral precision.

This white wine pairs ideally with grilled white fish such as sea bream, shellfish served with buttery sauces, as well as poultry and white meats in cream-based dishes. It also complements vegetable-rich dishes and soft cheeses beautifully.

The mineral expression and precision of a white wine from the Ermitage appellation
The estate
Founded in 1808, the M. Chapoutier House is an iconic institution of the Rhone Valley. A pioneer of biodynamic viticulture since 1991 under the impetus of Michel Chapoutier, the estate now spans approximately 500 hectares worldwide. The property is renowned for its rigorous parcel-based approach, seeking to express the quintessence of each terroir. Today, operational and technical management is ensured by the new generation, with Mathilde and Maxime Chapoutier at the helm of the estate, thus perpetuating excellence and the family philosophy.
The vineyard
The estate is the largest landowner in the Ermitage appellation, with 31 hectares of vines. This exceptional terroir is located on a steep granite hillside, laid out in centuries-old terraces overlooking the river. The soils are of great geological complexity, combining granite sands rich in quartz, clay-limestone deposits scattered with pebbles, and alluvial zones. Benefiting from a south-facing exposure and optimal sunshine, this vineyard is entirely cultivated according to biodynamic principles.
The vintage
The year 2024 was marked by demanding climatic conditions, beginning with a difficult spring and episodes of frost in late April. The summer season then benefited from moderate temperatures from the end of summer through to harvest. This cooler climate helped preserve vibrant acidity and enhanced the mineral precision of the berries.
Winemaking and aging
The grapes for this Ermitage Blanc 2024 are hand-harvested at optimal ripeness and then rigorously sorted. After a light cold settling, fermentation takes place entirely in barrels at controlled temperatures between 18 and 20°C. The wine then undergoes extended aging on its lees for 10 to 12 months with regular bâtonnage. Maturation occurs mainly in 600-liter demi-muids and large oak casks, with around 10% new barrels and 15% stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness.
Grape variety
The Ermitage Blanc 2024 from M. Chapoutier is made from 100% Marsanne.
