The pure expression of Moselle Pinot Noir by Markus Molitor

The estate
Taken over and restructured in 1984 by Markus Molitor, who remains the current owner and manager, the eponymous estate has established itself as an essential benchmark in the Mosel. Representing the eighth generation of a family of winegrowers, he cultivates approximately 38 hectares of vines on prestigious terroirs. The house's philosophy is based on meticulous manual work and low yields to express the authenticity of each parcel. Today, the Markus Molitor brand shines internationally, recognised for its qualitative rigour and its ability to sublimate the region's grape varieties.

The vineyard
The grapes come from vineyards typical of the Moselle valley. These iconic German terroirs are distinguished by their steep slopes and slate-rich soils, offering an environment conducive to the qualitative development of the vines.

Winemaking and aging
The making of the Pinot Noir Haus Klosterberg 2023 begins with a rigorous selection of grapes harvested at full maturity. The must undergoes spontaneous fermentation, followed by a full maceration period of three and a half weeks. Finally, the wine benefits from aging in oak barrels to perfect its structure and complexity.
