An authentic Chinon from Domaine Olga Raffault
The estate
Founded in 1920 by Olga Raffault in the Chinon region, Domaine Olga Raffault today spans 24 hectares of vines in Savigny-en-Véron, in the heart of Véron, between the Loire and the Vienne. Sylvie Raffault, granddaughter of the founder, now runs the estate alongside her husband Eric de la Vigerie and their son Arnaud de la Vigerie. The estate stands out for its remarkable history of family transmission across five generations and its progressive commitment to organic farming, certified since 2013. True to a traditional approach that respects the terroir, the estate produces Chinon wines renowned for their authenticity and elegance.
The vineyard
The Les Peuilles cuvée comes from plots located on a clay-siliceous and limestone plateau with south-facing exposure. The vines, with an average age of 25 years, thrive in this exceptional terroir of the Chinon appellation, which gives the wine its characteristic structure and minerality.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes for Les Peuilles 2020 are hand-harvested to preserve the integrity of the berries. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by ageing in oak foudres, allowing the wine to harmoniously develop its aromas while respecting the expression of the terroir.
