A Vintage Port from the Douro Valley, from the Quinta do Noval Vineyard and Aged in Casks
The Estate
Quinta do Noval lies in the heart of the Douro Valley, near the village of Pinhão. Its name is documented as early as the 18th century. Owned by the AXA Millésimes group since 1993, it is above all a vineyard planted on schist terraces. The Nacional parcel contributes to its renown.
The Vineyard
The vines of Quinta do Noval grow on schist soils, characteristic of the Duriense wine-growing area.
The Blend
The 20 Year Old Tawny is a blend of old Ports from different vintages, drawn from several casks. The average age of the blend is 20 years, as indicated on the label.
Winemaking and Ageing
For this Port, fermentation is halted by the addition of grape spirit. The wines are aged in oak casks for the time needed for the blend to reach an average age of 20 years. The wine is filtered before bottling.
Grape Varieties
This Vintage Port is crafted from traditional Douro grape varieties.
