Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens with assertive raspberry, delicately interwoven with nuances of rhubarb and rose. It then evolves towards notes typical of the terroir, revealing elegant touches of cedar and graphite.

Juicy and particularly indulgent, the palate unfolds delicious notes of strawberry, blackberry and shortcrust pastry. The whole is supported by finely chiselled, smooth tannins, offering an ample, refined texture of great elegance.

This wine pairs wonderfully with classic meats such as lamb, beef, veal or duck. It will also enhance roast poultry, mushroom-based dishes, as well as oily fish such as tuna.
Serving and cellaring

The elegance of a Pauillac second wine by Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande
The estate
Created in 1850 following the division of a vast historic estate, Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is an emblematic property of the Bordeaux region. Acquired in 2007 by the Rouzaud family, also owners of the famous Louis Roederer champagne house, the estate spans 114 hectares, 92 of which are currently in production. Recognised as a Second Growth Classified, it stands out for its exceptional terroir and its strong commitment to environmentally respectful practices, producing wines that combine power and great sensuality.
The vineyard
Located in the prestigious Pauillac appellation, the vineyard in production covers 92 hectares. The vines, with an average age of 28 years, are planted at a density of 9,000 vines per hectare on superb gravel mounds resting on clay-sandy subsoils. The estate is engaged in a conversion to organic farming, with the application of biodynamic preparations on 85% of its plots. Réserve de Pichon Comtesse is the estate's Second Wine.
The vintage
The 2025 year was marked by a historic drought, with a dry spring and a particularly hot summer. Rainfall totals were among the lowest of the past two decades. The growing cycle began with budburst in early April, followed by an early flowering at the end of May and veraison at the end of July. The harvest took place from 28 August to 24 September. Despite a low number of berries per cluster, the vines were able to draw on the water reserves accumulated in 2024. The return of rain at the end of August was highly beneficial, ensuring excellent sanitary conditions for the harvest.
Vinification and ageing
The creation of this wine is based on meticulous plot-by-plot vinification. Vatting is carried out by gravity into truncated stainless steel vats with double thermo-regulated walls. The approach is gentle, favouring infusion over extraction for maximum refinement. Ageing lasts 12 months in barrels, 50% of which are new, with a long medium toast. The process includes traditional racking using the esquive technique and fining with egg whites. Alcohol content: 13% vol.
Grape varieties
Cabernet Sauvignon (52%), Merlot (46%) and Petit Verdot (2%).
