Description
Tasting Notes and Characteristics of Another by Hendrick's
Tasting
Nose
A decidedly pastry-like and complex profile. Indulgent notes of chocolate-hazelnut spread and vibrant citrus open onto buttery touches of vanilla and neroli (orange blossom). In the background, the classic architecture of gin reveals itself with aromas of green juniper, coriander and a subtle vegetal hint of fresh cucumber.
Palate
The attack is dominated by bold juniper and orange zest, offering an enveloping cocoa texture. The mid-palate, warm and spicy, is lifted by fresh, floral notes of jasmine, vanilla and neroli. The finish, of beautiful length, delivers a surprise with a memorable shift towards notes of hazelnut, malted cocoa and ethereal rose, brilliantly marrying indulgent character with the classic spirit of gin.
Pairings and Tasting Occasions
The estate suggests pairing it with dark chocolate before a Gin & Tonic to enhance its enveloping character. It also pairs brilliantly with subtle desserts, such as oriental pastries or citrus-based creations, without ever weighing down the palate.
Mixology
Excellent for milky or creamy cocktails (Ramos Gin Fizz, Milk Punch, Grasshopper, Alexander) and revisited classics such as the Negroni (elevated by a few drops of cocoa or orange bitters). The estate recommends the "Another Hendrick's Spritz" (gin, apple juice, Prosecco, sparkling water, cherry liqueur, garnished with cucumber, cherry and orange zest). For a long drink, opt for plain soda water rather than classic tonic, whose quinine would mask the cocoa notes, and garnish with cucumber and orange zest. To avoid: the Gibson, the Dirty Martini or the Gimlet.
A Bold and Indulgent Scottish Gin by Hendrick's
William Grant & Sons: A Family Legacy Behind the Scottish Gin Hendrick's
Founded more than a century and a half ago, the prestigious William Grant & Sons company is still owned and run today by the Gordon family, direct descendants of the founder. This rare independence within the spirits industry, under the current chairmanship of Glenn Gordon, allows for a long-term vision and a focus on innovation. It is in this context that the famous Scottish Gin Hendrick's was born in 1999, the brainchild of master distiller Lesley Gracie. Produced within the Gin Palace at the Girvan distillery, on the south-west coast of Scotland, Hendrick's revolutionised the market with its experimental approach and apothecary identity. Drawing on the pure water of the Penwhapple reservoir and a long-standing expertise, the brand has established itself worldwide thanks to its curious spirit and impeccable quality.
Another Hendrick's: A New Dimension for Gin
Launched in February 2026, Another Hendrick's marks a major milestone, becoming the first permanent addition to the classic range in nearly nine years. The inspiration for this singular Scottish gin was born during a trip to Mexico, where master distiller Lesley Gracie discovered the cocoa flower used as a cocktail garnish. After months of experimentation in the greenhouses of the Gin Palace, she found the perfect balance by pairing cocoa with orange blossom, whose vibrant freshness lifts and harmonises the chocolate notes without betraying the brand's DNA.
The making of Another Hendrick's relies on the house's revolutionary two-still distillation system. The 1860 Bennett copper still macerates the botanicals to create a rich distillate marked by juniper, while the rare 1948 Carter-Head still extracts the most delicate floral aromas through vapour infusion. The blend of these two spirits, enriched with the brand's emblematic rose and cucumber essences, is here elevated by the new botanicals.
Visually, Another Hendrick's stands out with its immaculate white apothecary bottle. This aesthetic choice creates a striking duality with the original brown bottle, symbolising the purity, brightness and more citrus-driven facet of this new permanent expression.
