Founded in 1821 and having begun production in 1825 near Elgin, in the heart of Speyside, the Linkwood distillery is a historic figure of Scottish whisky. Rebuilt in 1872, it now belongs to the Diageo group. Renowned for the finesse of its distillate, Linkwood relies on a singular production setup: very long fermentations (up to 120 hours) from a clear wort, and slow distillation in stills where the spirit stills are unusually larger than the wash stills.
