Description
Characteristics and Tasting Tips for the Etna Rosato 2025 from Terre Nere
Tasting
Colour
The wine reveals a brilliant salmon-pink hue, reminiscent of onion skin, with lovely clarity.
Nose
The bouquet is delicate and complex, releasing aromas of small red fruits such as cherry and ripe strawberry, intermingled with notes of peach and melon. Subtle floral, herbaceous and mineral touches, evoking ash and warm stone, enrich this aromatic palette.
Palate
The attack offers a creamy texture and an alluring roundness, perfectly balanced by a lively acidity. The palate unfolds fruity and citrus flavours, stretching into a long finish marked by a refreshing saline tension.
Food and Wine Pairings
This gastronomic rosé is a wonderful companion to seafood such as grilled fish, shellfish or pasta with sardines. It also pairs beautifully with Mediterranean cuisine, grilled vegetables, fresh cheeses such as pecorino, as well as white meats or fine charcuterie.
Serving and Cellaring
To fully enjoy the Etna Rosato 2025, we recommend serving it at a temperature between 8 and 12°C. This wine can be enjoyed now, but its fine structure allows it to evolve favourably in the cellar until around 2030.
The Elegance of an Etna Rosé
The Estate
Founded in 2002 by Marco de Grazia, its current owner, Tenuta delle Terre Nere is a true pioneer of the winemaking revival in Sicily, Italy. Located on the northern slopes of the famous volcano, the estate takes its name from the dark, ash-rich soils that make up its terroir. With a vineyard extending over more than 30 hectares, the estate stands out for its meticulous parcel-by-parcel approach and its certified organic viticulture. Terre Nere thus strives to reveal the full singularity and elegance of indigenous grape varieties through cuvées of great purity.
The Vineyard
The grapes come from young vines aged 25 to 60 years, spread across several plots on the northern slope of the Etna volcano, at altitudes of between 600 and 900 metres. This exceptional terroir is characterised by volcanic soils rich in ash, black sand and basaltic rock. Organically farmed, the vineyard benefits from modified bush vine training and a northern exposure, which favour slow ripening of the berries and preserve a lovely freshness. The harvest is carried out by hand in early October with controlled yields.
Vinification and Ageing
The production of the Etna Rosato 2025 begins with a gentle, direct pressing of the bunches, followed by static cold settling. Alcoholic fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, maintained between 13 and 15°C, in order to preserve the full delicacy of the primary aromas. Ageing continues exclusively in stainless steel tanks, with no oak influence, thus guaranteeing the purity of the fruit before bottling.
