Description
The Vibrancy and Refinement of a Spanish White Wine
The estate
« Quality as a guiding principle, respect for the terroir as a philosophy », such is the motto of the renowned Spanish estate Vallegarcia. Designed in 1997 by the eminent Australian viticulture professor Dr. Richard Smart, the property covers nearly 50 hectares at an altitude of 900 meters in the foothills of the Montes de Toledo. Aware of the unique character of its terroir, the estate set out to obtain the « Vino de Pago » classification, a specific category within the Spanish wine classification representing the highest level of quality.
Recognized by the most discerning wine lovers and the leading critics, the estate offers an immersion into a world of elegance, richness, and complexity.
The vineyard
This precious vineyard in Castilla-La Mancha in Spain was shaped by the erosion of the oldest mountains on the Iberian Peninsula and reaches up to 900 meters in elevation. The estate cultivates both international grape varieties (cabernet sauvignon, syrah, cabernet franc…) and local ones (grenache, carignan, mourvèdre) with the utmost respect for the environment. Nestled in a natural setting, the bodega safeguards an invaluable fauna and flora, making the preservation of biodiversity a central priority.
Grape variety
This Castilla-La Mancha wine is 100 % Viognier.
