Tasting tips for Paris Foundations 2025 Edition Les Champs Élysées by Chichibu
Tasting
Nose
Opulent and velvety, the bouquet reveals pronounced exotic fruits (passion fruit, lychee, mango), highlighted by red fruits (grape, blackberry). Woodland notes (dead leaves, porcini) and a hint of prune add further complexity. Spicy notes (cinnamon), a malty bitterness, as well as floral (white flowers) and woody aromatic nuances enrich the overall profile, with a subtle touch of peat smoke.
Palate
A generous peaty opening, lively and tangy, with a peppery touch. The profile develops toward honeyed and waxy nuances, gaining roundness. Gourmand aromas emerge with toasted bread, rusks, malt (barley porridge) and lovely fruitiness (mirabelle plum, damson). Vanilla, cocoa and a fine smoke round out the harmony. The long finish brings back the malt, enlivened by gentian, mint, eucalyptus and sage. The character remains both tropical (passion fruit) and candied (plum), gradually enveloped in salted caramel and Bourbon vanilla. The finale is spicy (white pepper, cinnamon) and woody.
The refinement and aromatic expression of a Japanese single malt

Paris in the spotlight with this Foundations 2025 Edition
Since 2018, the Chichibu distillery has created a blend dedicated to the French capital. This Paris 2025 Edition celebrates the special connection between Paris and Tokyo, drawing parallels between their respective neighborhoods. This demanding blend brings together whiskies of different ages (5 to 14 years) from a wide range of casks: four new French oak casks, a Spanish oak sherry cask, three French oak casks that previously held red wine from Bordeaux, an American oak hogshead, six Bourbon barrels and two Bourbon barrels that previously held heavily peated whisky. This diversity of casks gives the whisky exceptional aromatic depth.
Presented in a gift box, this 70-cl single malt embodies the punchy, radiant visual identity of the Paris Edition series, inspired by Japanese kawaii aesthetics and postage stamps, with six different labels celebrating the cultural bridges between the two metropolises.
