    Description

A fresh Beaujolais wine with a wonderful aromatic palette

    The estate

Since its creation in 1928 by Henri Claudius Trénel, the Maison Trénel has enjoyed renown for its for its fruit liqueurs and wines from the great terroirs of Burgundy and Beaujolais.

Combining respect for family tradition with a constant quest for quality and authenticity, Maison Trénel works with a number of winemakers, including the emblematic M. Chapoutier.

    The vineyard

Les Capitans 2017 from Trenel is a Juliénas wine, an appellation located north-west of Beaujolais.

One of the most prestigious Climats in this wine-growing area, "Les Capitans" owes its uniqueness to its vines, which are between 60 and 120 years old depending on the plot, as well as to its clay and granite soils, which provide an ideal water supply. The southern exposure is also a determining factor in the ripening of the grapes, giving rise to a delicate wine with delicious fruity and spicy aromas.

    Winemaking and ageing

Following the harvest, 50% of the grapes are destemmed. Vinification with indigenous yeasts. Maceration for 26 days at a temperature of around 30°C. The wine is aged for twelve months in half-muids of 3 to 7 years (50%) and in vats (50%).

    Blend

    Gamay (100%)
