    Description

Characteristics and Tasting Tips for the Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Chabiots" 2022 by Albert Bichot

    Tasting

    Colour
The wine reveals a luminous red hue, heralding the finesse characteristic of the Pinot Noir grown in Chambolle-Musigny.

    Nose
The nose is infinitely delicate, driven by notes of cherry and raspberry, subtly enhanced by floral touches of rose and violet.

    Palate
The palate is fleshy and perfectly balanced, underpinned by silky tannins. It extends into a persistent finish, refreshed by light nuances of mint and tobacco.

    Food and Wine Pairing
This wine pairs ideally with roasted meats or meats in sauce, such as poultry, veal, lamb or feathered game, as well as mild-flavoured cheeses. It is particularly well suited to white meats in a creamy mushroom sauce, such as veal grenadin with morels, which showcases the full texture and aromatic complexity of the wine.

    Serving and Cellaring
This Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Chabiots" is best enjoyed at around 16-17°C. According to the estate, it has an ageing potential of 5 to 7 years and beyond, promising a beautiful evolution until 2029 at the very least.

    The Estate
Founded in 1831 in Monthélie by Bernard Bichot, the house of Albert Bichot moved to Beaune in 1912 and remains one of the last great family-owned houses in Burgundy. Led since 1996 by Albéric Bichot, who represents the sixth generation, it brings together six estates covering more than 100 hectares from the north to the south of the Burgundy vineyards, cultivated using lutte raisonnée (sustainable viticulture) or certified organic farming. A renowned négociant-vinificateur, Albert Bichot also relies on a network of partner winegrowers, within a winemaking philosophy that respects the terroir.

    The Vineyard
The "Les Chabiots" Climat is located in the southern part of the Premiers Crus of Chambolle-Musigny, in the Côte de Nuits, right next to the famous "Les Amoureuses" Climat. The soils are brown limestone, with outcropping limestone bedrock and only a thin layer of earth workable by the roots, owing in particular to the presence of massive stones in the subsoil. This configuration gives the Chambolle-Musigny terroir a particular ability to produce Pinot Noir of great elegance, both silky and finely aromatic.

    Winemaking and Ageing
This Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Chabiots" 2022 is vinified in temperature-controlled conical oak vats, in keeping with the house's non-interventionist philosophy. The maceration is long, followed by full ageing in oak barrels, 35 to 40% of which are new, structuring the wine while preserving the purity of the fruit and the expression of the terroir.

    Grape Variety
This wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir, the only grape variety permitted for red wines of the Chambolle-Musigny appellation.
