Tasting advice for the Puligny-Montrachet Village 2023 by Albert Bichot

    Tasting

    Color
The pale golden-hued color reveals the typical elegance of great white wines from Burgundy.

    Nose
The bouquet reveals a refined aromatic palette, blending floral scents like hawthorn with notes of dried fruits, including almond and apricot. With aeration, more candied nuances emerge.

    Palate
The palate offers a lovely roundness combined with a balanced structure. The persistent and refreshing finish extends the aromas perceived on the nose in beautiful harmony.

    Food and wine pairings
This elegant white pairs ideally with delicately prepared fish, seafood, as well as roasted or sauced poultry. It also goes very well with white meats in cream sauces.

    Serving and aging
To be enjoyed between 12 and 14°C. It can be appreciated now for its freshness or cellared until around 2027.

Albert Bichot presents a generous and delicate Puligny-Montrachet wine

    The estate
Founded in 1831 in Monthélie by Bernard Bichot, the house Albert Bichot belongs to a family lineage rooted in Bourgogne since the 14th century. Still independent and family-run, it is now led by the sixth generation. It embodies a subtle balance between tradition and innovation, with a clear commitment to preserving the typicity of each terroir. Recognized as one of Burgundy’s great names, the house is also renowned for its rigorous grape selection and its commitment to sustainable viticulture.

    The vineyard
The Albert Bichot estate farms over 100 hectares spread across the main appellations of Bourgogne.

    The wine
This Puligny-Montrachet comes from the Côte de Beaune, on plots with clay-limestone soils rich in marl. This exceptional terroir promotes a mineral and delicate expression of chardonnay, emblematic of the appellation.

    Vinification and aging
The harvest is carried out by hand, followed by meticulous sorting. Gentle pressing preserves the fruit’s integrity. Fermentation and aging on fine lees take place in oak barrels for 14 to 16 months, 20 to 30% of which are new wood, providing complexity and structure without masking the wine’s finesse.

    Grape variety
This wine is made from 100% chardonnay.
