    Tasting

    Colour
Displaying a beautiful red hue, this wine immediately catches the eye.

    Nose
Delicate and subtle, the nose exudes aromas of red fruits such as cherry, strawberry and raspberry, enhanced by fine spicy and mineral notes.

    Palate
Full-bodied and robust, the palate seduces with its great harmony and balance. The tannins, of great finesse and elegance, extend towards a finish of measured persistence.

    Food and wine pairing

This red wine pairs wonderfully with red meats, roast lamb, rib of beef or dishes in wine sauce. It will also enhance mushroom-based dishes (porcini, truffles) as well as washed-rind matured cheeses such as Époisses or Langres.

    Service and storage

For optimal enjoyment of the Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru "Les Porrets Saint-Georges" Domaine 2022, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 15 and 16°C. While it can be enjoyed from 2027, this wine will reveal its full potential with cellaring up to around 2040.

The elegance and structure of a Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru

    The estate

Founded in 1731 by Michel Bouchard, the house of Bouchard Père & Fils is a true institution in France, at the heart of Burgundy. Initially a trading company, it acquired its first vineyards in 1775. Over the centuries, the estate has built up an exceptional heritage. Since September 2022, the estate has come under the umbrella of Artémis Domaines. Committed to sustainable viticulture, the estate has completed its conversion to organic farming, thereby perpetuating the authentic expression of its terroirs.

    The vineyard

This wine comes from the climat "Les Porrets Saint-Georges," whose name historically refers to the pear trees that once grew there. This Nuits-Saint-Georges terroir rests on brown limestone soils mixed with marl. Benefiting from an ideal east and southeast exposure, the vines enjoy a continental climate that gives the wine remarkable structure and beautiful minerality.

    The vintage

The year 2022 was marked by a warm growing season, but one that managed to avoid the extreme water stress episodes seen in previous years. These favourable weather conditions allowed the berries to reach optimal ripeness while retaining lovely natural freshness, resulting in a harvest of great balance.

    Winemaking and aging

For the production of the Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru "Les Porrets Saint-Georges" Domaine 2022, the grapes are hand-harvested in small crates before undergoing meticulous sorting. Fermentation takes place under temperature control in conical oak vats for 20 to 28 days. Finally, the wine is aged for 14 to 16 months in oak barrels, 50% of which are new.

    Grape variety

    Pinot Noir (100%).
