Bruno Rocca : Barbaresco Currà 2019

This graceful red is expressive, revealing perfumed aromas of rose, wild strawberry and cherry, augmented by flavors of berry fruit, mineral, Scotch broom and menthol. This is balanced, if on the firm side today, with a long, expansive finish. Best from 2026 through 2045. 243 cases made, 30 cases imported.

Attractive mix of chocolate and raspberries with hints of cloves and moist tree bark, following through to a medium body with wide, but very fine tannin structure framing up the juicy fruit core. Polished with some chalky minerality at the end. Better after 2025.

This 2019 Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Currà has a charming nose of ripe raspberry and sweet strawberry syrup. On the palate it is very elegant and understated with rich, multi-layered flavors of strawberry, rose and spice. The tannins are beautifully integrated into the wine giving it an elegance. It flows seamlessly across the palate and the tannins feel embraced and almost invisible. A refined and graceful wine. Wait 2-3 years – this will drink for 20 years plus.
