The pure expression of a great white Curtefranca by Ca' del Bosco
The estate
Founded in 1968, the Ca' del Bosco estate is a true benchmark in Lombardy. Located in the heart of Franciacorta, this property extends over approximately 280 hectares of certified organic vineyards. Today, the estate belongs to Gruppo Santa Margherita, controlled by the Marzotto family, while Maurizio Zanella, a historic figure, still oversees its management. Renowned for its avant-garde approach and respect for biodiversity, this prestigious brand brilliantly combines cutting-edge technology and preservation of the terroir to create wines of great purity.
The vineyard
The grapes for this wine from the Curtefranca appellation come from carefully selected plots. The Chardonnay is sourced from thirteen vineyards averaging 36 years of age, located in the municipalities of Erbusco, Cazzago San Martino and Provaglio d'Iseo. The Pinot Blanc, for its part, comes from three vineyards averaging 32 years of age, located in Passirano. These vines thrive on morainic soils composed of gravel, sand and pebbles. The average yield is 9,856 kg of grapes per hectare.
Winemaking and aging
The bunches intended for the Corte del Lupo Bianco 2025 are hand-harvested and carefully sorted. They are cooled and then washed using an exclusive system developed by the estate. Only the free-run juice is retained. Fermentation takes place 25% in small oak barrels that have previously held Chardonnay, and 75% in stainless steel tanks. After eight months of ageing on the lees without malolactic fermentation, the wines are blended. Bottling is carried out by gravity in May 2026, and each bottle receives a unique traceability code. The wine then rests on average six months in bottle before being released.
