The estate

Bodega Chacra invites you to the heart of the Río Negro region, at the southernmost tip of Argentina. This rare gem was brought to life in 2004 by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta. The adventure began at a tasting in New York, when he tasted a wine that particularly captivated his attention: a Pinot Noir from Río Negro. It was a revelation for our protagonist, who immediately recognized the full potential of these terroirs: ungrafted vines dating back to 1932, massal selections, ideal climatic conditions... Thus, Piero Incisa della Rocchetta set out for this natural gem to create his dream wines – nectars that, as he says, can convey the taste of "a place on the planet."

The vineyard

Bodega Chacra is located in the heart of the Río Negro region in Patagonia, in an area formed by the confluence of the Limay and Neuquén rivers. From there, the landscape extends almost endlessly across plains and forests, at an altitude between 290 and 330 meters. Here, in this green heart, the estate thrives, nestled in a natural environment with 24 hectares of vines. The estate is farmed organically and biodynamically.

The wine

Produced from a vineyard with an average age of 40 years, farmed organically and biodynamically, the Chacra Chardonnay is the result of a collaboration between Bodega Chacra and Jean-Marc Roulot, the emblematic winemaker from Meursault.
