An elegant gift set featuring three outstanding cuvées from Charles Heidsieck
The estate
The prestigious Champagne Charles Heidsieck House is renowned for its exceptional heritage, notably its chalk cellars dating back two millennia. Visionary in spirit, the House set itself apart in the late 1980s by highlighting the remarkable aromatic evolution of its multi-vintage Brut champagne. In 1987, it became the first to indicate the “cellaring year” so that wine lovers could follow the wine’s development over time.
The vineyard
Charles Heidsieck owns a vineyard of around 60 hectares located in the Marne and Aube. This vineyard is certified for sustainable viticulture and High Environmental Value. In addition to its own vines, the House sources grapes through long-term contracts with carefully selected winegrowers and Champagne cooperatives.
The gift set
This Armchair Gift Set brings together three essential cuvées from the House:
The Brut Réserve by Charles Heidsieck is a prestigious multi-vintage champagne, meticulously crafted by the Cellar Master and aged for 36 months. It is the result of a blend of 60 crus, combining equal parts pinot noir, pinot meunier, and chardonnay, with 40% reserve wines for unique complexity. Its golden hue and steady effervescence are enticing, while its complex nose reveals brioche and fruity notes. On the palate, it offers a crisp texture and a delicious finish with hints of praline and vanilla, embodying the elegance of Charles Heidsieck.
The Rosé Réserve by Charles Heidsieck is made from 50 crus selected from the finest Champagne terroirs. Parcel-based vinification by cru and grape variety, followed by 3 years of aging in chalk cellars, gives it complexity, precision, and generosity. The blend includes pinot noir, pinot meunier, chardonnay, and 20% reserve wines, with 5 to 6% of great red wines for a beautiful tannic structure. Its powder-pink hue and fruity nose with sweet spice notes are seductive, while the palate offers a creamy and flavorful texture. This champagne can continue to develop in the cellar until 2025, revealing its full aromatic richness.
The Blanc de Blancs by Charles Heidsieck is an iconic cuvée that celebrates the House’s expertise, having been one of the first Blanc de Blancs created in Champagne in 1949. Composed of 25% reserve wines, this champagne showcases chardonnay through extended maturation in chalk cellars. Its pale gold color and complex nose of ripe fruits, white flowers, and candied citrus are appealing, while the palate delivers freshness, tension, and a mineral, saline finish. This Blanc de Blancs is elegant, taut, and generous.
