Characteristics and tasting advice for Dom Pérignon 2015 Takashi Murakami Limited Edition
Tasting
Nose
Initially revealing roasted and cocoa notes, the nose of Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015 gradually opens onto a floral bouquet of linden, jasmine, and peony, unveiling a spicy dimension. A vegetal and fruity freshness then emerges, with aromas of chlorophyll, orange peel, and green papaya.
Palate
On the palate, the champagne first unfolds delicately, then generously. Fresh peach and nectarine flesh envelop notes of citrus and gentian, before extending into a remarkable length.
Serving
To fully appreciate Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 46°F and 50°F.
Food pairings

The estate
The Dom Pérignon champagne owes its name to the famous monk and procurer of the Abbaye d'Hautvillers in 1668, Pierre Pérignon, known as Dom Pérignon. According to legend, Pierre Pérignon discovered what is now known as the Champagne method.
The Maison Dom Pérignon’s commitment to quality and innovation is embodied by its current Cellar Master, Vincent Chaperon, who took up the mantle in 2019.
The collection
Dom Pérignon collaborated with artist Takashi Murakami to create the design of two limited editions: one for Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015 and the other for the launch of Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2010.
The vintage
After a mild winter, the 2015 growing season saw marked contrasts. Spring began with a cold spell, followed by a long heatwave and drought from mid-May to mid-August, causing water stress and uneven ripening. August was the hottest since 1961, but late-month rain kick-started ripening. Harvest began on September 7 under sunny skies, allowing for an optimal three-week cycle. The grapes, in excellent health, proved to be remarkably generous.
Winemaking and aging
The winemaking process at Dom Pérignon scrupulously follows the principles of the Champagne method, with an absolute commitment to declaring only vintages. Extended aging in the cellar—well beyond the appellation’s standards—allows the champagne to develop its complexity and aromatic depth.
Blend
This remarkable champagne is the result of a secret blend of chardonnay and pinot noir.
