Description

A generous and refined Blanc de Blancs champagne

The producer

Located on the Côte des Blancs terroir, the Larmandier-Bernier Champagne House has been cultivating vines for over 8 generations. Since 1988, Pierre Larmandier has been at the head of the 16-hectare family estate with the ambition of producing exceptional vintages that authentically express the purity of the Champagne terroirs.

The choice to eliminate chemical products and to practice ploughing, use indigenous yeasts and carry out long ageing on lees in casks and wooden barrels confers to Larmandier-Bernier wines a rare and unique minerality and expression of terroir.

The wine

Latitude Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs from Larmandier Bernier stems from vines aged on average 35 years old, which have been cultivated for more than 20 years on biodynamic practices and with the utmost respect for the Champagne terroir. This wine is historically called "Tradition."

Winemaking and ageing

Produced since 2004, this Blanc de Blancs champagne from Larmandier-Bernier is composed of 40% reserve wines.

Gentle pressing before settling and racking. Natural alcoholic fermentation then malolactic fermentation in barrels and tuns, as well as the first year's ageing on lees. After blending, additional bottle ageing for at least 2 years is carried out in the House’s naturally cooled cellars. Disgorgement is carried out 6 months before being released. This Extra Brut champagne's dosage is 4 g/litre.
