    Description

Characteristics and tasting advice for the Beaune 1er cru "Bressandes" Domaine 2022 by Chanson

    Tasting

    Color
The wine displays a beautiful ruby hue.

    Nose
The bouquet reveals floral fragrances alongside aromas of small red fruits such as raspberry and redcurrant, lifted by a peppery touch.

    Palate
The palate offers a balanced, well-built structure. The texture is refined and tightly knit, carried by a fresh, fruity character that lingers through a long, elegant finish.

    Food and wine pairings

This Beaune 1er cru "Bressandes" Domaine 2022 pairs harmoniously with white meats, roasted meats, or a pink herb-crusted rack of lamb. It also goes beautifully with regional cheeses such as Epoisses, Brillat Savarin, or Citeaux.

An elegant, well-balanced Beaune Premier Cru by Domaine Chanson

    The estate

Founded in 1750 by Simon Verry, Chanson is among the oldest Burgundy houses. The estate adopted its current name in 1847 under the direction of Alexis Chanson. Owned by the Bollinger group since 1999 and managed by Vincent Avenel since 2017, the vineyard spans 88 hectares, primarily classified as Premiers and Grands Crus on the Côte de Beaune and in Côte Chalonnaise. Certified organic since 2024, Chanson Bourgogne stands out for its 15th-century Bastion.

    The vineyard

The Les Bressandes climat in Beaune covers 2 hectares located on the upper part of the slope, with an easterly exposure. Situated at the mouth of a north-facing valley, the vineyard rests on light clay-limestone soils over the bedrock. The pinot noir vines come from a clonal selection planted in 1992.

    The vintage

The 2022 vintage in Bourgogne saw a mild spring marked by low rainfall, followed by a hot summer punctuated by heatwaves. Beneficial storms in late August helped balance ripeness. Harvest took place from August 30 to September 13, yielding wines that are generous in volume and quality, well-balanced, and endowed with luscious fruit.
