    Vinum

Dark color, intense forest-berry fruit on the nose, with noble roasted notes, tobacco, and a hint of herbaceousness; balanced on the palate, pronounced tannins and a racy acidity provide grip, firm, with a fine sense of tension and pleasing length. Finishes spicy. Once again, of high quality.

    Decanter

Dark blackcurrant and soft herbal tones on the nose. Vivid purple colour in the glass. Succulent and cool, this has a graceful palate – it’s light-footed for Belgrave, leaning into the vintage, so it’s relatively lean but there’s purity and clarity and a cool aspect. Some salty stones. Fresh – this will be very drinkable once in a bottle. Just a light touch where they really didn’t try and do anything that nature didn’t provide. A touch of sweet juicy blueberries on the mid palate and chalky tones on the finish. I like it. Tasted twice.

    Leve Jeff

Blackberries, black currants, spearmint, and a hint of dark chocolate form the core of this wine. Medium-bodied, crunchy, and juicy, with plenty of currants in every sniff and sip. Just a year or so in the bottle, and this will be easy to enjoy for at least 15 years or more. Drink from 2028-2040. 90-92 pts

    Le Figaro Vin

A hint of freshly ground coffee opens with a refined, slightly restrained nose that unfolds into blackcurrant, blueberry, blueberry leaf, and white pepper. On the palate, the wine is concentrated and succulent. Beneath velvety tannins, the freshness of the substance delights with its balanced, tangy backbone. A lovely mocha finish.

Characteristics and Tasting Advice for Château Belgrave 2024

    Tasting

    Color
Beautiful purple color, whose depth reflects a good concentration.

    Nose
The nose, expressive and nuanced, opens with aromas of fully ripe dark fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry), enhanced by notes of licorice, sweet spices, and a subtle minty freshness.

    Palate
The attack is fleshy and perfectly balanced. The substance, juicy and refined, unfolds generously, supported by a tannic framework with a velvety grain. The intense fruit expresses itself consistently through to a long, fresh, and elegant finish.

    The estate

Located in the Haut-Médoc appellation, this former 18th-century hunting lodge has become one of Bordeaux's finest wine estates. The Château Belgrave has belonged to Maison Dourthe since 1979.

    The vineyard

Château Belgrave is a Haut-Médoc wine that comes from a single 60-hectare vineyard, 95% identical to the one classified in 1855. In the heart of the Médoc, these exceptional vines are planted on two deep gravel ridges with clay subsoil.
