Gorgeous nose full of softly sweet blackcurrants. Energy and life here: right away you get a rush of bright red and black fruits, strawberries and black cherries filling the mouth with fruit juice and mouthwatering acidity. Then the tannins take hold, giving support and depth. This feels well made, with intensity and precision. The focus is on the bright fruit with good acidity. An easy drinker to enjoy for its youthful energy, though you could also hold onto it for a few more years.

This is really nicely crafted with creamy and lightly chewy tannins that add layers and density to the wine. It’s medium- to full-bodied with lovely fruit and a chocolate and walnut undertone. Cabernet sauvignon and merlot. This needs time to come together. Try after 2023.

The 2019 Cambon La Pelouse has a delineated bouquet of graphite/pencil box aromas and ample black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy blackberry and raspberry fruit, fine definition and good substance on the finish. This should age with style.

The 2019 Château Cambon La Pelouse showed nicely, with a complex, spicy, perfumed style as well as notes of more red and black fruits, dried flowers, cedary herbs, and spice. This medium-bodied, elegant Haut-Médoc is already drinking nicely and should last for 7-8 years.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Cambon la Pelouse needs coaxing to reveal creme de cassis, ripe, juicy plums, and mulberry notes with hints of wild sage, cedar, and balsamic. Medium-bodied, it has a chewy texture and a lively line cutting through the dried berries, finishing earthy.

The 2019 confirms its promising form and the wine has lovely charm, with a palate that is both suave and energetic, well guided by the Cabernets that tighten the finish and bring a welcome tangy note.

The bouquet of Cambon La Pelouse is intense and youthful. It is marked by notes of red and black berries, followed by menthol nuances. A delicious, juicy attack. The wine has body, powerful tannins, and lots of energy! It will require patience, but what it shows today is convincing and delightful.

The nose is aromatic with a touch of power, good intensity, and a fine grain. The wine benefits from decanting. It reveals notes of fresh boysenberry, ripe small red berries, and lighter strawberry, along with hints of star anise, crunchy small plums, subtle touches of graphite, camphor, spices, a delicate hint of cardamom, and a note of Sichuan pepper in the background. The palate is fresh and mineral, offering roundness, fruit, a slight glycerol feel, a certain gourmandise, a touch of creaminess, lovely complexity, fine grain, a gentle delicacy within its power, and a modest concentration. On the palate, it shows crushed blackberry, crushed wild strawberry, and, more subtly, crushed redcurrant, with hints of licorice stick, juicy purple plum, a touch of Bourbon vanilla, graphite, and a subtle hint of incense. Good length. A subtle touch of star anise lingers on the finish.

92–94. Barrel Sample. Ripe, juicy and generously structured, the wine has all the values of the vintage as well as plenty of aging potential. Berry fruits are shot through with acidity and supported by tannins that are already showing a velvet texture. The wine is set for fine medium-term aging.
