Chateau Canon 2016: A lively and well-balanced Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

Chateau Canon 2016 is a Classified First Growth in the Saint-Emilion appellation. This red wine is produced on a 20 hectare vineyard. The vines are, on average 30 years old, and planted on a clay-limestone plateau. Chateau Canon 2016 is a blend of 74% Merlot and 26% Cabernet Franc. The wine is aged in barrels for 18 months, 65% of the barrels are new.

Chateau Canon 2016 has a rich aromatic palate. Aromas of black fruits (black cherries), ripe fruits, floral (violets), empyreumatic (chocolate notes) as well as fresh figs and spices. Silky and delicate, the tannins offer a creamy and persistent texture. Chateau Canon 2016 is an elegant wine, both lively and well-balanced.
