    Vinum

Cherry and cassis on the nose, with grasses and floral notes; a juicy attack, fine-grained tannins, the acidity adds drive, carrying the delicate fruit into a pleasantly long finish. Very clean, with great drinkability.

    Decanter

The blend shows an intense purple-ruby colour, with a floral and spicy nose, including slight peppery notes. High-quality oak is evident, and the palate is tight, with fine-grained tannins. Nuances of red and black cherries and blueberries suggest good fruitiness and potential for ageing over the next decade.

Flowers, strawberry, and cherries define the character here in this soft, forward, early-drinking, fresh, red cherry-filled wine. The wine blends 85% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink from 2027-2038. 89-91 Pts

Vivid raspberry and cherry fruits, austere through mid palate but with good saline lift and juice on the finish. Coralie de Bouard owner of this consistently impressive estate.

    Vertdevin

The nose is elegant, airy and spicy, offering a certain delicacy in the intensity of its texture, with precision and a lovely lifted character. It reveals notes of juicy, fresh Charlotte strawberry and violet, and to a lesser extent juicy, ripe small berries, combined with fine touches of ripe blackcurrant, along with subtle hints of lilac, clove, bergamot and red pepper. The palate is fruity, juicy and smooth. It delivers freshness, good definition, a sense of precision, minerality and a fine tangy/iodine-tinged thread. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy, fleshy cherry, purple plum and, more lightly, blueberry, combined with touches of juicy, fleshy red cherry, as well as hints of lilac, bergamot, a subtle almost sage-like note and discreet touches of fresh spices. Good length. A wine showing precision, a chiseled edge, freshness, juiciness, a discreet varietal note in the background and a sappy character.

    Description

A Montagne Saint-Émilion wine marked by finesse and balance

    The property

Coralie de Boüard and her husband Loïc Maillet acquired the Château Clos de Boüard in 2016, located in the satellite appellation Montagne Saint-Émilion.

    The vineyard

Château Clos de Boüard oversees a vineyard covering an area of 30 hectares. Approximately 40 years old, the vines planted on south-facing clay-limestone slopes give birth to a great wine of Montagne Saint-Émilion.

    Vinification and aging

Manual harvest before selection via optical sorting. Pre-fermentation maceration at 8 -10 °C. Alcoholic fermentation. Maceration for 3 to 5 weeks. Malolactic fermentation in new barrels. Parcel vinification, accompanied by manual punch downs. The aging lasts for 18 months in barrels (30% in new barrels and 30% in barrels of one wine).

    Blend

This Château Clos de Boüard 2023 is the result of a blend of merlot (85%), cabernet franc (10%) and cabernet sauvignon (5%).
