Château Coufran 2015

The 2015 Coufran is medium garnet-purple colored with an earthy, broody nose with a hint of cassis and plums. The medium-bodied mouth is firm, chewy and earthy.

85% Merlot. Very fragrant with lots of quite luscious sweetness on the front palate – though perhaps a slight lack of stuffing on the mid palate. Perfectly nice drinking for the relatively short term but nothing mind-blowing. Though the persistence is impressive. (JR)

Forward, with a light, red plum and cherry profile, dusty tannins and a simple, direct, red berry finish for early drinking pleasure.

The 2015 Château Coufran is a touch weedy aromatically, yet has a charming, fruit forward, medium-bodied style on the palate. I’d suggest drinking it over the coming 4-5 years.

Herbs, restrained bouquet, cherries, wood, coal. Firm, dry palate with sandy tannins, little fruit, bony structure, dry finish. 15/20 2022 - 2030

Exuberant aromas: ripe fruit, delicate floral notes, sweet mint, aristolochia and angelica. The palate is well-structured and vigorous, with finely crafted tannins, great length and a vibrant finish.

Medium garnet-red color. Fruity bouquet with good intensity. A slightly juicy, pleasant attack. On the palate, the body is balanced, enjoyable, and supported by a good structure. A wine to drink while young.
