The 2023 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc from Château de Beaucastel reveals aromas of ripe pear, white flowers, herbs, spices and hints of fresh thyme. Medium to full-bodied, round and sappy, it’s enrobing and generous with a seamless texture, gastronomic bitterness and a long, saline, fresh finish. Very harmonious, this is a deep, fleshy Châteauneuf-du-Pape composed of 80% Roussanne and 20% Clairette, Grenache Blanc, Bourboulenc, Picardan and Piquepoul.

    Decanter

A rich and ripe vintage, with a touch of honeyed nuttiness from the oak. It’s a generous style, rounded and very deep in fruit. The alcohol feels a little more elevated than a typical vintage (even though it's only 14%), but it has concentration and depth. Slight grapefruit bitters on the finish. Harvested quite early this year. Roussanne all in barriques; new and one-year-old.

80% Roussanne, 15% Grenache Blanc, 5% Picardan, Clairette, Bourboulenc. Tangerine and apple-skin notes on the nose. There is real richness here, a mouth-coating density, a salinity and sense of freshness – a real minerality comes through on the finish to refresh the rich core. The alcohol is balanced and there is a lovely long finish. Dense and powerful but always refreshing. (AC)

Rocking stuff, the 2023 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc boasts a vivid gold hue to go with a killer nose of honeyed stone fruits, toasted almonds, flower oil, and caramelized orange. It's medium to full-bodied, concentrated, has a supple, seamless mouthfeel, and the fresh, elegant style of the vintage.

    La RVF

This wine is driven by lovely freshness. The 80% Roussanne is well integrated, both on the nose and on the palate. Yellow-fleshed fruits take the lead, while aniseed and wisteria nuances add a certain brightness. The palate is broad yet never loose. The wine is flavorful, with impressive length.

    Terre de Vins

The Perrin family’s expertise shines once again in this gastronomic white, where the dominant roussanne (80%) performs at a high level between creaminess and freshness. Juicy peach is wrapped in wildflower honey and a hint of salinity. Tactile, indulgent, dense yet airy, it’s a model of balance between power and finesse.

A precise and fruity white wine from the Rhône Valley

    The property

Founded in the 16th century, the Château de Beaucastel was taken over at the beginning of the 20th century by Pierre Tramier. If his son-in-law, Pierre Perrin, gave a new impetus to the estate, its significant reputation was developed beyond borders thanks to Jacques Perrin. The sons and grandsons of Jacques Perrin still perpetuate today the quest for excellence of this family estate which is one of the most beautiful labels of the Rhône Valley wines.

    The vineyard

Château de Beaucastel oversees a 110-hectare vineyard in one piece in the North of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. Conducted in Organic Agriculture since the 1960s, the vines are planted on soils composed of rolled pebbles on the surface as well as clay, sand and limestone in depth. 7 hectares are dedicated to the production of white wines.

    The vintage

After a dry winter and a wet but healthy spring, the summer offered favorable conditions, despite a heatwave in August. The early and serene harvest delivered magnificent berries. The first tastings announce promising wines, of great freshness.

    Vinification and aging

Manual harvest, sorting of the harvest, collection in crate, pneumatic pressing, settling, fermentation in piece (30%) and in vat (70%). Aging for 8 months (30% in piece, 70% in vat). Bottling after eight months.

    Blend

Roussanne (80%), white grenache (15%) as well as picardan, clairette and bourboulenc (5%).
