    Description

The elegance and richness of a Haut-Médoc wine

    The estate

Owned since 2005 by the Merlaut family, managed by Céline Villars Foubet and Jean-Pierre Foubet, Château de Camensac is an estate founded in the 18th century in the Haut-Médoc appellation. This 5th Grand Cru Classé of 1855 was the subject of significant investments, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, which enabled the estate to be equipped with the best equipment. Château de Camensac now stands out as an important Bordeaux reference, offering fantastic value for price.

    The vineyard

An unmissable name in Haut-Médoc, the Château de Camensac vineyard comprises 25 hectares of vines. The vines are planted in two different types of soil: the Gunzian gravel found in Saint-Julien and the Graffernian gravel found in Pessac-Léognan. It is from these two types of soil that give the wines of Château de Camensac their unique character.

    The vintage

A harsh winter preceded a rainy spring. These conditions had an impact on flowering, causing run-off and millerandage in a third of the vineyard. Although temperatures were scorching at the beginning of the summer, the temperature variations between day and night during the month of August kept the grapes fresh. The rainfall recorded at the beginning of September restored the vineyard.

    Blend

    Cabernet Sauvignon (55%)
    Merlot (45%).
