    The estate
The contemporary history of Château de Plaisance truly began in 1960 with the Rochais family. Located in Rochefort-sur-Loire, this 25-hectare estate is an iconic figure of the Loire Valley. A pioneer, the property has been certified organic since 1995 and biodynamic since 2008. Taken over in 2019 by Vanessa Cherruau, the current owner and winegrower, the estate distinguishes itself through a contemporary reinterpretation of its great terroirs.

    The vineyard
The cuvée comes from the Zérzilles plot, a 0.6-hectare micro-terroir nestled on the slopes of the famous Butte de Chaume, in Anjou noir. The vines, over 50 years old, thrive on complex soils of sandstone schist. This exceptional terroir, farmed organically and biodynamically with very gentle soil work, allows the grape variety to fully express its minerality and natural tension.

    Winemaking and aging
For the Zerzilles 2024 cuvée, the harvest is carried out entirely by hand. In the cellar, vinification is natural and minimally interventionist. The grapes undergo a slow cold pressing, followed by fermentation initiated by indigenous yeasts. Malolactic fermentation is fully completed. Finally, the wine benefits from meticulous ageing over 14 months, including 10 months in barrels, to preserve the brightness and purity of the fruit.
