The botrytis cinerea grapes was harvested in 3 successive pickings in October and in excellent conditions. The 2014 Barsac Doisy-Daëne gives off fresh and scrumptious notes of honey, tropical fruits, ripe citrus fruits (orange and candied lemon) followed by nutty accents. This Deuxieme Cru Classé palate is precise on a good acid structure (typical of Barsac because of the soils characteristics) which balances the liqueurous richness. The wine is very dense and seduces by its long aromatic finish. It is a well-produced Barsac with a great ageing potential (several decades).
The Doisy-Daëne Blanc Sec 2014 has a pleasant, refined bouquet with scents of green apple intermingling with lime and granitic scents. The palate is taut and fresh with a sharp, almost but not quite shrill line of acidity, with a penetrating malic finish that leaves the palate feeling totally refreshed and asking for more. Very fine.
