Description
A Listrac wine with freshness and beautiful structure
The estate
Maps dating back to the early 13th century attest to the presence of vines at the place known as "Fourcas". Following the acquisition of the estate in 1843 by Maître Jean Antoine Dupré, it was renamed Château Fourcas Dupré. While the Pagés family crafted great Listrac wines for nearly 50 years on the left bank of Bordeaux, Château Fourcas Dupré has been owned since 2019 by Gérard Jicquel, a Breton entrepreneur and founder of the family group Beautiful Life, which has also owned Château d'Agassac (Haut-Médoc) since 2020.
The vineyard
Located in the heart of the appellation, Château Fourcas Dupré is a Listrac wine produced from a 60-hectare vineyard certified HVE3. The vines, averaging 35 years of age, take root on a rise of Pyrenean gravels and clay-gravel soils.
Vinification and ageing
Ageing is carried out 30% in new barrels, complemented by 70% in concrete vats and amphorae. Alcohol content: 13.5% vol.
Blend
Cabernet Sauvignon (74%)
Merlot (26%).
