An elegant Pomerol wine with refined tannins and remarkable aromatic freshness
The property
The Château Gazin is a wine estate located in Pomerol on the right bank of Bordeaux. Founded in 1772 by Antoine Feuilhade, it is today managed by the Bailliencourt family since 1918. The estate stands out for its historical heritage, having belonged to the Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem in the Middle Ages, and is recognized as a grand cru of Pomerol.
The vineyard
Covering an area of 26 hectares, the Château Gazin vineyard flourishes on an exceptional Pomerol terroir, characterized by clay-gravel soils. The surface layer is composed of Güntz gravel, while the subsoil reveals blue and green clays that give the wines their distinctive character. The vines, averaging 35 years old, benefit from an ideal microclimate and optimal exposure, allowing the grapes to reach perfect maturity.
The vintage
The 2024 vintage harvest took place from September 20 to 30 for the merlots and October 3 for the cabernet sauvignon. This year allowed for the production of grapes of remarkable quality, combining concentration and freshness, essential elements to produce a balanced and expressive Pomerol wine.
Vinification and aging
Parcel vinification. The aging, lasting 14 to 16 months, is carried out in French oak barrels, 50% new and 50% of one wine. This aging method favors elegance, balance, freshness and aromatic subtleties, allowing the wine to fully express its terroir.
