    Description

A Pomerol wine that delights with its precision and minerality

    The estate

An essential reference in Pomerol, Château Gazin has a very ancient origin. In 1917, Château Gazin was acquired by Louis Soualle, the great-grandfather of the current owners, the De Bailliencourt dit Courcol family.

    The vineyard

Château Gazin is a Pomerol wine that stems from a vineyard of 26 hectares planted on a high terrace on a clay-gravel soil. Château Gazin is the largest of the crus of the famous appellation located on Bordeaux’s Right Bank.

    Winemaking and ageing

Ageing for 15 months in barrels (of which 45% were new and 55% of one wine).

    Blend

    Merlot (87%)
    Cabernet Franc (5%)
    Cabernet Sauvignon (8%)

Characteristics and tasting tips for Château Gazin 2016

    Tasting

    Nose
The nose is complex, mingling fruity (black and red fruit) and floral fragrances with notes of mocha and vanilla.

    Palate
A round and fruity (cherry, blackcurrant) attack gives way to a fresh, precise and balanced palate with silky tannins.

    Storage

This Pomerol wine can be laid down until around 2041.
