    The property
The Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste, located in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux, has a rich history dating back to the 16th century. Classified Fifth Growth in 1855, it was revitalized in 1978 by Jean-Eugène Borie. Today, under the direction of François-Xavier Borie and his children, the operation focuses on cabernet sauvignon, with modern viticultural practices while respecting tradition.

    The vineyard
The vineyard of this Pauillac property extends over 58 hectares in production, with an average vine age of 38 years. The vines are planted on a terroir of deep gravels on hilly relief. The soil work is mechanical and the management of the vineyard follows a reasoned approach.

    The vintage
The 2017 vintage was marked by favorable climatic conditions, with a hot and dry summer, allowing optimal ripening of the grapes.

    Vinification and aging
Harvesting exclusively by hand with a double sorting on vibrating table before and after destemming. Maceration of about 3 weeks. The aging is carried out in fine grain French oak barrels for 16 to 18 months, with 75% new wood.
