The structure and aromatic framework of a Côtes de Castillon wine
The estate
Acquired in 2001 by the Bécot family, Château Joanin Bécot is a wine estate located in the Côtes de Castillon, east of Bordeaux. Under the impetus of Juliette Bécot, the estate stands out for its commitment to showcasing the appellation through demanding and innovative winemaking methods, while respecting the family heritage and the authenticity of its terroir.
The vineyard
The vineyard dedicated to this Château Joanin Bécot 2025 extends over 12.60 hectares of clay-limestone soils within the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. The vines, with an average age of around 40 years, benefit from a terroir comparable to that of the neighbouring Saint-Émilion, creating optimal conditions for the development of the Merlot and Cabernet Franc grape varieties planted there.
Vinification and ageing
Plot-by-plot vinification combined with hand-performed punching down. Maceration of approximately 40 days. Malolactic fermentation carried out in vats. Alcohol content: 14% vol.
Blend
This Château Joanin Bécot 2025 is the result of a blend composed of Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
