Tasting
Appearance
This wine reveals a deep ruby colour leaning towards garnet, underlined by a beautiful clarity and delicate violet highlights in its youth.
Nose
Particularly charming, the aromatic bouquet opens on a vibrant and pure fruit, dominated by cherry and plum, with subtle hints of raspberry. The whole is elegantly rounded out by floral notes of violet and fine spicy nuances.
Palate
The palate stands out for its creamy, smooth and supple texture. The medium-bodied structure is supported by silky, finely polished tannins. The balance between alcohol and acidity is excellent, offering a beautiful freshness that leads to a flavoursome, lingering finish marked by indulgent chocolate notes.
Food and wine pairings
This cuvée will pair wonderfully with roasted or grilled red meats, such as a fine ribeye or sirloin steak. It will also enhance a rack of lamb, dark-fleshed poultry such as duck breast, as well as regional dishes showcasing mushrooms, truffle or reduced jus.
Serving and cellaring
To reveal its full complexity, Château La Pointe 2025 deserves to be decanted for about an hour in its early years. It is recommended to serve it at an ideal temperature of 15.5 °C. With its beautiful substance, this wine has excellent ageing potential and can be enjoyed until around 2050.
The elegance and expression of a Pomerol wine
The estate
Founded in 1868, Château La Pointe extends over 26 hectares within the renowned Bordeaux region. Since 2007, the estate has belonged to SCE Château La Pointe, under the aegis of the Generali France group, with Eric Monneret at its helm. This vast vineyard stands out for the atypical triangular shape of its plots. Thanks to significant investments and the modernisation of its facilities, the brand has been able to reinvent itself to produce wines of great precision, combining the history of a historic cru with a contemporary vision of viticulture.
The vineyard
Located on the right bank, this exceptional Pomerol terroir rests on a mosaic of sandy-gravelly-clay soils. The vines are managed using agroecological practices, reflecting a deep respect for the environment. Meticulous mapping of the plots allows cultivation practices to be perfectly adapted to the specificities of the land, thereby promoting optimal ripeness of the grapes.
The vintage
The year was characterised by a severe drought that lasted until July. Fortunately, two providential rainfalls on 20 and 29 August helped unlock the situation and save the harvest. Thanks to these decisive rains, the vines were able to recover at the last minute and yield grapes of exceptional quality despite low yields.
