    Vinum

Fresh aromas, mineral-driven, blossom honey, apricot, bittersweet orange; the palate is juicy and rich yet fresh, with crisp fruit, plenty of energy, light on its feet, spicy, and a pronounced dried apricot note on the finish. Full of finesse, structured, long, and saline. Excellent.

    Decanter

Creamy, really aromatic and fragrant: peach, pear, blossom—so fragrant. Lovely sweetness and cleanness with lemon, apricot, sweet pineapple, mango, cinnamon and vanilla. Crisp, fresh, salty, sugary. Yum.

Sweet, ripe mango and grilled apricot fruits, luscious but struggles to really convey lift and tension. Yield 6.5 hl/ha.

Fresh and inviting, the bouquet of La Tour Blanche initially reveals chalky notes before giving way to nuances of apricot, peach, peppermint and white flowers. Smooth and slightly saline on the attack, the wine stands out for its depth and finesse. It is powerful yet vibrant, and can boast the subtlety of its austere edge, which only enhances the freshness and length of the finish. A great wine in the making that still needs to better channel its energy and richness. Ageing will take care of that.

Pale yellow color. Intense bouquet, fruity, deep and fresh. Broad on entry, melting through the mid-palate, opulent yet without heaviness, the wine unfolds with noble poise and great flavor. It melts on the palate, rich, airy and profound, finishing so delicious you don’t want to spit it out. I’ve never seen it so open-knit and airy. Bravo! Blend: 77% Sémillon, 15% Muscadelle, 8% Sauvignon. Alcohol: 13.5% – pH: 3.75. Residual sugar: 142 g/L. Yield: 8.5 hl/ha.

    Description

Tasting notes and characteristics of Château La Tour Blanche 2025

    Tasting

    Appearance
This wine reveals a beautiful pale golden yellow hue, enhanced by delicate silvery highlights.

    Nose
Particularly expressive and showing remarkable intensity, the aromatic bouquet opens with highly seductive exotic scents, dominated by lychee.

    Palate
The attack is generous, offering a full and fleshy texture. As the tasting unfolds, the profile evolves toward indulgent flavors of apricot, exotic fruits and candied fruits. The finish lingers at length on savory notes of brioche, dried fruits and candied lemon.

    Food and wine pairings
This great sweet wine pairs wonderfully with pan-seared foie gras or foie gras terrine. It also brilliantly accompanies delicate white fish served with a cream sauce, blue cheeses such as Roquefort, as well as fruit-based, chocolate or coffee desserts.

    Serving and cellaring
To fully appreciate the complexity of this vintage, it is recommended to serve it chilled, at an ideal temperature between 10 and 12 °C.

The excellence of a Premier Grand Cru Classé from Sauternes

    The estate
Located in the Bordeaux region, Château La Tour Blanche was founded in the 17th century by Jean de Saint-Marc. Awarded Premier Grand Cru Classé status in 1855, it spans 40 hectares. Bequeathed to the French State in 1907 by the philanthropist Daniel Iffla to establish a viticulture school, the estate now belongs to the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region. Combining viticultural excellence with an educational mission, this unique institution has become a true mark of prestige, recognized worldwide for its sweet wines of remarkable finesse.

    The vineyard
Located in the commune of Bommes, within the Sauternes appellation, the terroir reaches an altitude of between 60 and 67 meters on a ridge overlooking the Ciron. The vines thrive on soils composed of gravel and alluvial deposits resting on a clay-limestone bedrock. Strongly committed to preserving biodiversity, the estate is HVE 3 and ISO 14001 certified, with a conversion to organic farming underway since 2020.

    The vintage
This year's weather conditions were marked by a particularly dry and scorching climate, followed by a mild autumn. This climatic transition encouraged a uniform and gradual development of noble rot. The harvest was carried out by hand, requiring three successive passes between September 18 and October 7 in order to select perfectly concentrated berries.

    Winemaking and aging
To preserve the brightness of the fruit while bringing structure, this wine benefits from meticulous aging. It rests for 16 to 18 months exclusively in new French oak barrels. ABV: 14% vol.

    Grape varieties
This wine is made from a blend of Sémillon (77%), Muscadelle (15%) and Sauvignon (8%).
