    Description

A Second Grand Cru Classé from Margaux, aromatic and refined

    The property

Bearing the patronymic of Chevalier Antoine de Lascombes since the 17th century, the Château Lascombes is marked by the imprint of the ten generations of owners who have shaped its history. Since 2011, the mutualist group MACSF has been the owner. The wines of Château Lascombes are recognized as being among the greatest of the Margaux appellation.

    The vineyard

120 hectares in the Margaux appellation make up the vineyard of this Second Grand Cru Classé in 1855. This vineyard is located on a mosaic of plots whose soils are composed, depending on their location, of a gravelly mound, clayey gravels and clay-limestone plots.

    Vinification and aging

Harvested by hand, the grapes are sorted and then destemmed. A slight crushing is carried out during vatting. The pre-fermentation maceration lasts 10 days at 8°C. Alcoholic fermentation is followed by traditional vinification with light daily pump-overs to promote extraction. Following malolactic fermentation in barrels, aging on lees lasts 4 months (60% new barrels).

    Blend

The Château Lascombes 2020 is made from a blend of cabernet sauvignon (55%), merlot (40%) and petit verdot (5%).
